A man rammed his car into the front gate of an FBI field office in Atlanta and tried to make his way onto the property on Monday, the agency said.
The FBI confirmed that the incident had occurred just after noon, writing on social media that the man was “not associated with this facility.”
The man, who has yet to be formally identified, was apprehended by “several special agents passing by” after exiting his vehicle. The motives for his actions are “not known” currently.
Where is the man who rammed FBI field office now?
The man was taken to a hospital in the area for an evaluation and no other injuries were reported.
“Currently, we are looking into both state and federal charges,” according to an FBI statement. "Agents and bomb techs checked the car as a precaution as a part of our standard operating procedure."
The agency said they didn’t have any additional information to release and that the investigation was ongoing.
The FBI Atlanta office declined to answer any additional questions regarding the incident, pointing to the online statement for reference.
